Our StoryOptimal Mind was built on a simple but often overlooked truth: progress doesn’t come from extremes—it comes from clarity, consistency, and compassion for where you are right now. It was created from the belief that true performance and well-being start from within.
Founded by Coach Emma Dorshimer, Optimal Mind exists to help people step out of the frustration that so often surrounds nutrition, training, and self-care. Many clients arrive feeling stuck in an endless loop of restrictive eating, confused by contradictory advice, or discouraged because their effort in the gym isn’t translating into the results they expect. Others are simply trying to make “healthy” choices fit into an already full life—and finding that rigid plans fall apart the moment travel, holidays, or big transitions show up.
Emma understands these challenges because she’s lived in performance-driven environments herself. A former collegiate basketball player at Gettysburg College, she learned early on how closely physical output, recovery, and mindset are intertwined. Today, Olympic weightlifting is her primary sport, grounding her work in real-world strength training and long-term athletic development.
Emma is a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach, and 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher. This blend of education allows her to support clients in a way that goes far beyond meal plans or workouts. Her coaching focuses on building sustainable habits, improving body awareness, and creating structure that actually holds up under the demands of everyday life.
Yoga and mindfulness are central to Emma’s philosophy. Through private yoga sessions and individualized nutrition coaching, she helps clients reconnect with their bodies, quiet the mental noise around food and training, and develop routines that feel supportive rather than restrictive. The goal isn’t perfection or constant discipline—it’s learning how to stay grounded, adaptable, and consistent over time.
Optimal Mind is for those who are ready to move away from “all or nothing” thinking and toward a more balanced, intentional approach to health and performance. Emma’s mission is to help clients feel confident in their choices, resilient through change, and empowered to make progress that lasts.
